Do you require an apostille on your U.S. passport?
If you plan to open a bank account or purchase a property abroad or enter into an inheritance in a foreign country, you will most likely be asked to obtain an apostille on your passport to confirm your identity outside of the United States.
We offer apostille service for all US and international passports for member countries of the Hague Apostille Convention. We also provide a Legalization process for passports for countries that are not members of the Hague Apostille Treaty.
How can I get an apostille on my U.S. passport?
First, you should appear in front of the Public notary who will confirm your identity. Then the state will confirm the notary’s seal and signature and will endorse it with the state apostille (usually, a separate page). Please note that we must have the original signed and notarized color copy of your passport to obtain an Apostille. Online digital notarization is not acceptable.
Important: If you are currently abroad and need to apostille your passport, you will need to visit the local US Embassy or US Consulate office.
If you are physically in the United States, please follow these simple steps below. Please call or email us with any questions or concerns.
Step 1: Make a color copy of your passport. Most countries require only the first two pages with your photo and other identity information. However, some counties may ask for color copies of all pages in your passport.
Step 2: Visit a local notary public office. You can locate the closest notary public by searching online for “Notary Near Me”.
Step 3: Have your color passport copy signed and notarized. At the notary office, you will be asked to attest to the color copy of your passport with your own written statement. This statement maybe something like this: “I certify this is a true copy of my passport # xxxxxxxxxx.” You will need to sign and date your attestation. Remember that your signature should match the signature on your passport. The notary should then attest his notarial affidavit, sign, and date underneath, and put a notary seal next to his/her signature.
Important: Some states allow notaries to certify a color copy of a passport, however, we recommend that you follow the instructions in step #3.
Step 4: Mail in your certified signed and notarized passport color copy to our office. Please do NOT send your original passport.
And you are done! Once we receive your notarized document, we’ll process a state apostille on it and send your apostilled passport copy back to you by FedEx. As simple as that!
