Single Status Affidavit Apostille

Do you require an Apostille on your Single Status Affidavit?

At Global Apostille, we make obtaining an apostille on your Single Status Affidavit easy and stress-free. We apostille Single Status Affidavits issued by all 50 States and the District of Columbia (Washington DC).

If you plan on getting married abroad and that country is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, you will be asked to obtain an apostille on a Single status affidavit.  Some countries may also request to provide this documentation for employment purposes.

In some countries, a Single Status Affidavit is also referred to as:

  • Affidavit of Single Status
  • Affidavit of Marriageability
  • Certificate of Freedom to Marry
  • Certificate of No Impediment for Marriage
  • Certificate of No Record – Marriage
  • Certificate of No Public Record
  • No Record of Marriage

We advise that your Single Status Affidavit should be recently issued as many countries require that the Single Status Affidavit was received within 90 days.  We recommend checking with the country requesting your document for the specific requirements on your document validity.

A Single Status Affidavit is a document confirming that you are not already married in your country and, therefore, is eligible to marry abroad.

Only the State that issued a Single Status Affidavit can provide an Apostille. So, if the State of Georgia issued your Single Status Affidavit, only the State of Georgia can process an Apostille on your document.  If your Single Status Affidavit was issued abroad via the US Embassy or a Consulate, your Apostille needs to be processed through the U.S. Department of State in Washington D.C.

If you are currently not in the United States, you must contact a local U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate office near you.  Your Single Status Affidavit should be processed and notarized by the U.S. Federal notary located at the US Embassy/Consular office.  When you receive your notarized Single Status Affidavit, please mail it to our office for Apostille processing.

Obtaining an apostille can be intricate. Avoid leaving this task for inexperienced staff or non-professionals who are not fully aware of the complexities of the apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your application may be rejected, and you lose time and money. Make a better choice!

Our experts are available Monday through Friday from 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM. Please call us at 1-770-447-0360 and we will answer all your questions and offer easy to follow detailed instructions.
